We left for the Ohio State campus this morning at seven thirty. It was chilly but not as cold as many December mornings in Ohio can be. There was not a flake of snow in sight as we headed to Robby's karate clinic. The weather stayed pretty much the same until we arrived. As we parked in the parking deck a few yards from the building which the event was held in it began to snow. Not the pretty little fluffy snow flakes, mind you, but heavy packing snow in the biggest flakes that I have ever seen. We got into the gym without much ado. We arrived before Sensei Okazaki so Robby had plenty of time to change and stretch. When Sensei Okazaki arrived, Michael and Robby asked him to sign their books, so that we could leave after the clinic and not have to wait until he was done with the black belt tests. This was a good move as the snow did not let up at all from when we got there. It fell so hard and fast that crews could not even start to clear the roads. We were lucky to be able to drive forty five MPH on the freeway where we usually drive seventy to seventy five. We just got home and I have never been so glad to see this place .All in all the clinic went well. Robby did well with it even though he was the lowest rank there. There were a couple people one belt ahead of him ( green belts) who couldn't handle more than half of the ninety minute clinic. They called it quits and left about half way through. I took a bunch of pictures but have narrowed it down to just a few.
By the way As I type this Mike and Michael are using the new snow thrower to clean our driveway. It is nice to see them so enthusiastic to do yard work !
