Yep he loves me !
After our flight home from vacation landed in Pittsburgh as everyone else we went to claim our luggage. Since there were ten bags that were checked, our plan was for me to set in a near by chair, with the carry on luggage while Mike and the kids retrieved our bags and brought them to me to keep an eye on while they retrieved others. A couple bags were delivered and more were being waited on when one came down the chute with a huge wet spot on it. Since we had packed several bottles of rum, sake, and champagne Mike assumed that even though they were packaged in virtually unbreakable, spill proof packaging, that one or more bottles had broken causing the obvious wet suitcase.I realized that this could not have been the case since I personally had packed the alcohol in another bag, but Mike's curiosity had the wet suitcase opened before I could tell him this so that I could be heard over the bustle of people collecting their belongings. Once the bag was opened Mike realized that the wetness did not come from within but a quick sniff seemed to confirm that some one's suntan oil was the culprit. Luckily it was an older bag so we didn't stress or complain however as Mike had the bag opened( ten to twelve feet from where I was setting)he noticed that a toiletry bag within the suitcase was making some noise. Not thinking Mike picked up the bag and hollered to me over the noise "Diane something is buzzing in here!" He then proceeded to toss the bag to me. I , also not thinking, figured that it was one of the five spin toothbrushes and opened the bag to turn the culprit off. As fate would have it, I was right but the lady sitting next to me was not so sure. It seems that when Mike tossed the bag to me she was taking no chances and jumped to her feet. she further ducked as I opened the bag. When I pulled out the spin brush and turned it off she didn't seem as relieved as I would have thought but continued to glare at me. I guess that if I was her I would have felt the same but as it was, I found the situation extremely funny.Especially when I looked at Mike and said "what if someone put a bomb in there and you tossed it to me. I could have been blown up........ Thanks !!!!!!!" Mike thought for a second and then said with a grin, a bomb wasn't what I was thinking, as he walked back to retrieve another bag. Soon we had all of our luggage and the bag with our alcohol was bone dry so as soon as I find the time I plan to find a good rum cake recipe and try out the vanilla and coconut flavored rums. As for the 140 proof stuff, I'm sure my loving husband has plans for that !
